Efficacy

Efficacy Trials

Our efficacy trial experience:

  • Herbicide
  • Fungicide
  • Insecticide
  • Nematicide
  • Miticide
  • Growth Regulator
  • Biostimulant
  • Nutrition
  • Soil Amendment
  • Microbials
  • Beneficial Organism
  • Variety/Cultivar
  • Rotation/multi-year
  • Seed Treatment
  • Drone Imagery
We are able to rear and inoculate diseases and nematodes in attempt to increase likelihood of incidence, maintain a nematode infested field, spread various species of weed seeds to decrease variability within herbicide trials, and can plant bait crops for attracting insect pests.

Efficacy trials have been part of our yearly workload since 1993. We strive to conduct efficacy work in an unbiased nature using the most up-to-date practices with modern equipment and technology. This in turn gives our clients a bird’s eye view of how their products, varieties, techniques, etc. will perform in a side by side comparison of similar products.

We offer complete turn-key trial work in which we conduct the trial from start to finish, collect all data and present it in a statistical format or we can assist sponsor representatives with as much or as little as they prefer at any one of our field locations.

We have on-site rabbiteye and highbush blueberry
Tropical Spiderwort (Commelina benghalensis)
Drip irrigation injection manifold
Pecan view from man-lift
Cone-type planter for variety/seed treatment, etc.
On-site environmental data station
Air-blast sprayer equipped for plot application
Research vacuum planter
Our staff is proficient with Agriculture Resource Management (ARM) and attend routine training.

We have a working knowledge of the statistical reasoning and rules behind experimental design, analysis, and interpretation. This ensures that the quality of data produced is high and results are reproducible. We often offer suggestions on experimental design and plot sizes based on experience with various crops.

Greenhouse Trials

In 2024, we built a 3000 square foot (280 m2) greenhouse to accommodate our growing demand for propagating transplants and conducting controlled environment research. We also have relationships with commercial greenhouse operators in the area, where we have conducted greenhouse trials.

Biotechnology and Regulated Field Trials

APHIS-compliant confined release trials, can be conducted under GLPS. Confidentiality, stewardship, success and continued monitoring are some of the things we strive to achieve for our clients with regulated trials. Even though we have a proven track record with this type of work, our effort and attention to details are still at the forefront as each new trial begins.

Demonstration and Field Days

SEAgR serves as a showcase where farmers, industry professionals, consumers and lawmakers gather to learn and implement improved farming practices and gain insight into production agriculture and scientific research. At SEAgR, these concepts are refined and tested in a field setting before being introduced into practice by growers. The facility is a proving ground for the best ideas and methods that will enhance the quality and quantity of food and fiber that will help sustain the growing world population.

Georgia has had a rich Ag history for hundreds of years and continues to be at the forefront of leading the Ag sector in many areas. We are located less than five minutes off of Interstate 75 and a few minutes from Tifton, GA, which offers great food and hotel accommodations. We have worked very closely with sponsor representatives in the past to ensure that their tours run smoothly. Services are provided as needed: We have research grain combines (both corn and grain heads), cotton harvesting and plot ginning equipment at our facility, etc.

Variety Evaluation and Breeding Nursery

We routinely evaluate varieties for their response to our growing conditions in the Southeast US, and conduct crop breeding nursery trials for seed increases.

Bee Research

Our staff has worked with setting up nets and sampling bee trials. We keep some hives and have access to obtaining large numbers of beehives from commercial beekeepers in our area.

Drone Imagery and Data Collection

SEAgR ownes and operates a DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral and DJI Matrice 100 UAS.

Picutres are captured using a 20 MP 4/3 CMOS RGB Camera and 4 x 5 MP G/R/RE/NIR Multispectral Sensors.

Our UAS allows us to collect plot-level data, such as stand counts and various vegetative indices. We also have the capability to produce high resolution NDVI (or NDRE, SAVI, ENDVI, GRVI, VARI, GLI, etc.) maps and RGB orthomosaics.
